Just a little thought I had during this map built. All artists here whatever their universe are, are details maniacs. Maybe thats why I'm going psycho about details too...

One thing that surprises me is that guys from my era, which must be you, especially since you have a Heavy Metal cover on this that I own, and references to Moebius and F. Frazetta, is that all of us eventually favored Frazetta over Boris Vallejo, who, at that time, was arguably more popular and maybe set THE standard for fantasy art. Why did we all set him aside and eventually put Frazetta on the pedestal? Maybe he deserves re-examination. Frazetta and Mucha are easily the top two most admired artists on Deviant.

It was maybe just a question of taste... (I only speak for me)...
But when I discovered their universes I was a kid, and Frazetta's marked me much more than Vallejo's.
Sorry if you feel like there is an injustice in this. Technically speaking, I agree with you Vallejo deserves much more fame. But unfortunately for a lot of talented artists, audience gratitude isn't proportionate to skills.

Well, I'm not on a mission to boost Vallejo's image really, but he just seems totally forgotten. This is a guy who did body building so he could pose as his own model!

oh ben quand on parle du Kishiro...(je me disais bien qu'il y avais quelque chose dans le style d l'illu que j'avais vu exposé^^) J'admire egalement beaucoup Giger et Ledroit.
